I AM BEING CONNED MATUNGU UDA CANDIDATE SAYS.

Matungu UDA candidate Alex Lanya and Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale at a recent function. Mr. lanya now claims he is being conned off cash from the DP.

ALEX Lanya the UDA Candidate in forth coming Matungu by elections has come out to claim those around the DP are using him to earn millions of shillings.

Speaking at a private function early today, Lanya. A contractor by profession claims of the close to Ksh 10 Million released by the DP to fund him only Ksh 4 millions was remitted. 

"Iam not happy, someone is using me to get money from the DP and not remitting the same, I am not able to confront the sources because it is a cartel" He said. 

The candidate, who was taken to the DP's office by Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale, Mumias east MP Benjamin Washiali and Former Sports CS Rashid Mouhamed complained that he was being used as a bait. 

"There is no way I could have spent my money on this thing and all I get are promises and small cash like Ksh 300,000! It's ridiculous" He said. 

Mr. Lanya, whose company LANEX received huge contractual jobs in Matungu CDF in the tenure of the late Honorable Murunga, went on to claim he gave some unnamed individuals money to front his as the sole candidate on the promise that he will have direct links to the DP. 

"When I ventured to contest, I sold some personal assets to give individuals cash including those who dropped their bid to support me, I did not know that I would be a victim of conduits as it is now, surrounded by people who just love money and not my course" He said. 

Sources in Matungu have indicated that the UDA campaign funding is not remitted directly to the candidate but through proxies most of who have been shortchanging Mr. Lanya. 

Last week, a group of Bodabodas who were contracted to escort the UDA Candidate to the IEBC for presentation of papers threatened to stage a protest if they are not paid Ksh 509 each that was promised. 

Three weeks ago, several candidates including Paul Posho dropped their candidature to support Mr. Lanya in a frenzy of meetings in Nairobi. 

Investigations have shown that the DP has so far released Ksh. 36 Million towards the Matungu UDA campaign by the candidate has so far only received less that Ksh. 9million.
