KAKAMEGA SHALL NOT GAMBLE TO VOTE A GANG LEADER OR A HOTHEAD AS GOVERNOR.

Story By Ayub Ayub.

KAKAMEGA is a county endowed with natural resources and very suitable climatic conditions with stable rains across the year.

The county receives close to Ksh 10 billion as its sharable revenue from treasury and collects close to Ksh 300 million in local taxes.

The headache is how to manage all these after the exit of the current Governor Whycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya arguably the best governor these sides of the country Kenya.

In 2022, we go to the polls to elect all office bearers a county boss included and that is where the headache begins because the elite know where to put their ballot.

There is whole lot of a population out there that needs guidance on how to vote prosperity and not popularity, suitability and not hotheadedness, skill and not noise.

On the menu to succeed Gov. Oparanya are politicians most who have absolutely no track record of prudent management of public finances in their current or previous offices.

Party affiliation not withstanding, the 2022 polls will be absolutely an individual's capability and ability to track development, manage the available resources at large but still politic but to a smaller extent.

There is however a worrying trend when we see politicians who are lining up for 2022 take on immature and dangerous behavior that not only put the country at a pedestal but the resources too.

The emergence of gangster-like groupies, war-like individuals and ragtag armies especially at the Matungu By Elections is reason enough to separate the leadership that cares again that that is only there to exploit youth for their selfish ends.

Seeing Kakamega Senator Honourable Cleophas Malala leading anarcy, rebellion, noise and general disorder in the run up to the polls paints a very worrying picture of how things could look like just in case the Senator contested and won as Governor in 2022.

It is clear that resolution measures will be left to disorderly mobs, blind clappers, cheap labour providers in Bodaboda Operators and layabouts. It is a bad joke that a gobernatorial candidate can fail to carry themselves with decorum, respect and the humility associated with the high office.

No one will put Ksh 1Billion in the hands of a raffian, a man who exploits cheap labour to meet his selfish ends in as far as pushing a political agenda is concerned.

Honourable Malala has come out as a gang leader, an impatient individual who reacts to inatia without a second or third thought on despite resolution and civility.

The firebrand ex MCA has not been in any leadership position that puts to test his resoluteness in as far as financial management is concerned.

As Senator, no development finances are released thereby it being difficult to see thru Senator Malala  in as far as management is concerned.

His counterpart in Parliament Ayub Savula has also had very questionable dealings.

By commandeering to cause mayhem  at the polls on March 4th, the Senator Kakamega is completely unfit to hold public office.

Under article 260 of the Constitution of  Kenya, 2010 Members of Parliament who include Senators are listed as State Officers. And article 75 of the said constitution under the chapter on Leadership and Integrity is clear that;

(1) A State officer shall behave, whether in public and official life, in private life, or in association with other persons, in a manner that avoids:

(a) any conflict between personal interests and public or official duties;
(b) compromising any public or official interest in favour of a personal interest; or
(c) demeaning the office the officer holds.

(2) A person who contravenes clause (1), or Article 76, 77 or 78 (2)--

(a) shall be subject to the applicable disciplinary procedure for the relevant office; and
(b) may, in accordance with the disciplinary procedure referred to in paragraph (a), be dismissed or otherwise removed from office.

(3) A person who has been dismissed or otherwise removed from office for a contravention of the provisions specified in clause (2) is disqualified from holding any other State office.

In the upshot foregoing the Senator is completely unfit to continue serving as Senator of Kakamega in the Parliament of Kenya and or hold any other PUBLIC OFFICE for that matter.
ENDS.
